A geomagnetic storm is in progress along with changes to the magnetic field showing up worldwide.
Upon further research, it looks like the magnetic field is cracked letting in the access amounts of solar radiation from the CME that was Earth-directed earlier in the week.
Besides the CME, a coronal hole stream will also create magnetic disturbance so we are getting a two-fold storm.
Now the increase magnetic changes can be the direct result of the CME and Coronal hole stream but since Earth is wobbling and tilting due to the seasons change, the magnetic field is taking a hit.
We should see more data as it comes in within the next 6 hours.
