I would like to say it was random, but as you can see from the charts above, the M8 and M2 class flaring was expected. And from the looks of it, a smaller one maybe ready to throw out.
While the Sun throws surprises, Earth is seeing strong spikes in the geomagnetic field indicating large quakes in the M7 range is about to strike in the next 24 hours.
Peru was struck with a M6.7 but according to the data, an M7 is about to be released soon and Peru is one of many locations on the list.
