Today, The sun is showing activity not only on the Schumann Resonance in Tomsk but also on the 5mHz band of the radio spectrum.

Yesterday on our Telegram channel we first reported the massive spike in Tomsk but with no indication of a culprit. Today, activity has finally shown itself from Sunspot 4489.


This filament is ready to life which in return will be causing an M-Class flare which will be Earth facing!

To add to the activity, we are within 48 hours of the massive coronal hole which by the looks of the data has lots of high-speed wind behind it.

Earth is currently in stable clear transition but there is radiation leakage on the sunlit side of Earth which we can see the TEC increasing already.

As for tectonics, there is stress building showing in Cumiana which indicates M4-M5 quakes are possible throughout the planet.


Here in Kentucky, we are already seeing that stress but no trends indicating anything big yet. As geomagnetic disturbance rises through today, this will in fact change as the lunar geometry aligns.


Any bigger activity will be tonight into tomorrow. It is a safe assumption that the small stress build will become larger today.

Solar activity remained at low levels this period. The largest flare was
a C1.5 at 18/2152 UTC from newly numbered Region 4492 (N15E73,
Hax/alpha), which rotated onto the eastern limb this period. Region 4489
(S07W12, Cso/beta-gamma) developed some small trailing spots, but
Region 4491 (S11E21, Axx/alpha) lost its penumbra. No Earth-directed
CMEs were observed in available
coronagraph imagery.

chance for M-class flare activity.

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels this period
with a peak flux of 1,170 pfu at 18/1715 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV
proton flux was steady at background levels.

Solar wind parameters continued at background levels. Total magnetic
field strength reached 5 nT, and the Bz component ranged between +/- 4
nT. Solar wind speeds average around 325 km/s throughout the period.
